No Internet! Oh, no!

18 07 2013

Yes, it’s true! A journalist’s worst nightmare: no internet available at my home! I’ve been jumping from fast food joint to fast food joint with a computer and notebook trying to get a jump start on all things UT that are more than sure to slap me come August with no time to update my lonely, lonely blog. But I can say, I arrived safely home!

My 20th birthday has come and gone, and I think being able to say I saw the world [or six countries, if we get technical] before I was 20 is a pretty good accomplishment. I am so proud of myself and all that I did, and looking back now, it hardly seems as if it actually happened. All I can do is think about how it changed me, all I can talk about are the differences between home and Utrecht and I know my immediate family and friends are getting sick of it.

If you are one of these poor victims: please tell me to just be quiet if this gets on your nerves. I’m having a rough time realizing all that I’ve done. It’s so amazing to me that this was my life for five surreal months. But now it’s done, and I’ve got bigger fish to fry.

Today, I found out I was accepted as a News Intern for the NBC affiliate in Knoxville, WBIR Channel 10! I was super excited to hear this and not have to keep worrying about my practicum. I’m so excited to be working for my favorite station on Rocky Top!

Just so I can not feel guilty, I’m uploading one photo from my trip! I promise my London/Back home update will come eventually, as will my planned post-abroad posts. For now, tot ziens!

This is me dressed up as Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd for a Halloween party my senior year of high school... you're welcome, Internet.
